Description
Having a Robin Spencer designed house with its distinctive persona - it was challenging to know just how to extend and build under. When we finally got around to it we are so glad Bill was available.
Our Scope of Work included Deck extensions both ends, Granny Flat for Family, Guest accommodation, Laundry, Workshop and Sundry Elements.
Incorporation of all this into existing problematical space/s involved the part under the house requiring linking with upper floors and overcoming considerable drainage problems - being cut into a hillside block at St John’s Wood.
This included some light hungry areas and had some taxing practical constraints which needed to be solved to make the space flow.
Bill’s positive ideas and creative solutions resulted in all the rooms being light and airy beyond our expectations. Bill also worked patiently on the visual and practical integration of our brief into the Spencer design by attention to detail to produce an overall wonderfully flowing ambience - embracing our beautiful bushland views.
We had lots of problems getting planning permission because - by virtue of the topography - ours became partly a three story house - but Bill and his Town Planner persisted and achieved Council Approval.
We are entirely delighted with the finished creation and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Archetype’s services to any of our friends.
